What CodePass is
CodePass is an Android app that makes a phone act as a Bluetooth keyboard, so that text on the phone is typed into a computer as ordinary keystrokes. Nothing is installed on the computer.
Free use and paid keys
The app is free to download. Pairing with a computer, connecting, and typing the built-in welcome message work without paying. Typing your own text requires a key.
- Keys are sold as passes of 3 days (₹50), 7 days (₹100) or 28 days (₹300).
- A pass starts when the key is first entered in the app, not when it is bought.
- A key works on one phone only — the first phone it is entered on — and cannot be moved by you afterwards. Write to us if you change phones and we will move it.
- A key is a licence to use the app for that period. It is not a sale of the software.
Using it properly
You are responsible for what you type with CodePass. You agree to use it only where you are allowed to: on computers you own or are permitted to use, and in line with the law and with the rules of any organisation, examination, test or service involved. Do not use CodePass where an assessment, employer or service prohibits outside assistance or automated input.
What you may not do
CodePass is proprietary. You may not copy, modify, decompile, redistribute or resell the app, and you may not remove or work around the key check or share keys.
Availability
We try to keep the service running, but cannot promise it is never interrupted. The app checks in over the internet, and needs a connection at least once every three days to keep working. We may switch off a key that was refunded, charged back, or shared.
Liability
CodePass is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from using it, including text typed into the wrong place, lost work, or a computer refusing the keyboard. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 30 days.
Changes
We may update these terms. Changes apply from the day they are posted here and do not change a pass already bought.
